ABOUT WEST SUSSEX SNAILS

West Sussex Snails breeds many different snail types.  With a specialism in the larger Land snails such as Achatinidae snails, also known as Giant African Land snails (GALS) and  Helix Aspersa Maxima They are eaten all over the world and enjoyed in many cultures.

We are currently breeding three types of GALS as they have different features.  Lissachatina Fulica Jadatzi have a white foot and a pale yellow shell.  The Lissachatina Fulica White Jade have a darker shell, with a stunning pattern, and white foot.  Finally the Achina Fulica have the standard dark grey foot with a caramel and dark brown shell.

All Snails are kept inside to maintain the correct temperature and humidity that they require.  They are fed good quality fruit and vegetables, with a protein supplement once a week.
